Atlantic Constructors is seeking a Project Manager (SPM) – MEP to oversee planning and implementation of commercial construction projects, including Mechanical, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, HVAC, Electrical, and Fire Protection systems.

Summary/Objective

ACI's Project Manager (SPM) – MEP oversees all aspects of planning and implementing the delivery of commercial construction projects, including MEP systems and subcontractors. PMs review plans and specifications for design and constructability issues and lead the project to meet financial goals while maintaining quality.

Essential Functions
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with internal project teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Builds positive morale on the project site.
  • Coordinates with internal departments (pre-construction, sales, safety, purchasing, CAD/BIM, fabrication shops) and client personnel to:
  • Develop and maintain a construction plan and schedule.
  • Scope vendor quotes, purchase equipment and materials.
  • Scope subcontractors and issue subcontracts.
  • Provide guidance for the fabrication schedule.
  • Monitors key metrics daily and mentors site leadership to support timely execution and completion within budget and with no defects or accidents.
  • Prepares, monitors, and maintains project budgets; reports to senior management.
  • Creates revenue forecasts, schedule of values, cash flow analysis, and other financial analysis.
  • Identifies changes in scope, prepares pricing, and submits potential change orders to customer.
  • Develops recovery plans to bring a project back on track if safety, quality, or production issues arise.
  • Acts as liaison with client and architect/engineer contacts to facilitate construction activities.
  • Distributes final requirement documentation to subcontractors.
  • Schedules all required construction meetings with relevant personnel, subcontractors, architects, and owners.
  • Attends client, architect pre-bid, project, and close-out meetings.
  • Plans, organizes, and maintains staff key positions through department heads or trade managers.
  • Establishes project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy and client direction.
  • Monitors staffing needs, evaluates performance, and addresses employee relations issues as warranted.
  • Makes decisions and recommendations that can impact corporate client relationships and project profitability.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility

Yes

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus 7‑10 years of experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self‑starter capable of working with minimal supervision; detail oriented problem‑solver.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Availability to work assigned schedule.
Preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Familiarity with the BIM process.
  • Prior experience with Procore Project Management System.
  • Prior military experience.
Work Environment
  • Might work in varying temperatures, both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold and dampness.
  • Might work in areas exposed to moderate/high noise levels.
  • Might be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust.
  • Might be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights.
Physical Demands
  • While performing duties, may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must identify all colors of color‑coded cables/wires; requires good vision and depth perception.
Travel
  • May require travel (typically not overnight).
