As an entry‑level estimator, you will assist in preparing bid documents and cost estimates for electrical construction projects. You will work under general supervision, supporting small to medium projects, and will learn to apply established estimating procedures.

• Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
• Calculate complete takeoffs and enter data into the computer estimating system; review estimate printouts for accuracy and completeness.
• Solicit quotes from existing suppliers and subcontractors and review quotes for completeness relative to plans and specifications.
• Collaborate with senior estimators to provide detailed reviews of scope, technical requirements, and pricing for the bid package.
• Draft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications using existing templates.
• Maintain backup files of estimating assumptions and methodologies.
• Contribute to the timely completion of client‑required documents.

• Advanced knowledge of electrical construction, estimating techniques, and cost control.
• Interpret computerized cost data and electrical systems.
• Perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating.
• Read and interpret engineering design drawings, specifications, and front‑end documents.
• Identify and meet customers’ needs, expectations, and requirements.
• Solve practical problems involving limited standardization.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and estimating software.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks under changing priorities.
• Work effectively under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Effective professional interaction with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in estimating commercial construction projects, preferably electrical.
• Basic exposure to Accubid estimating preferred (a combination of education, training, and experience acceptable).

Travel up to 10% of the time. Work environment includes prolonged sitting, standing, walking, typing, and occasional lifting of up to 30lbs. Jobs are conducted indoors, but work may also involve site visits with varying lighting and noise levels.
