Civil Construction Foreman – Utility and Site

Job Code  – City Sterling, State Virginia. Full‑time position.

As a Civil Construction Foreman specializing in site or utility work, you will oversee the execution of underground utility projects while ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. You will utilize your leadership and organizational skills to manage on‑site operations, supervise crew members, and maintain effective communication with management. Your expertise in construction management software and budgeting will be vital in optimizing project schedules and resources.

• Supervise crew members to ensure each project is completed efficiently, safely and profitably.
• Ensure construction projects are performed in accordance with company procedures and safety, environmental and regulatory guidelines.
• Allocate general and daily responsibilities to crew and resolve problems when they arise.
• Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.
• Monitor crew attendance and performance while providing leadership, training, coaching, or reprimands for improper work practices.
• Process and submit timecards, and report progress to the Superintendent, Managers, Engineers and others daily.
• Perform all other duties as assigned verbally or in written form.

• Knowledge of trenching and excavation, confined spaces, hazardous materials and atmospheres.
• Must have site or utility foreman experience.
• Valid state‑issued motor vehicle license.
• Ability to work in high‑stress, quickly changing environments.
• Ability to work in varied outdoor conditions (wet, dry, hot, cold, rugged terrain).
• Excellent communication and written skills; ability to fill out forms electronically using an iPad or iPhone.
• Strong organizational and budgeting skills.
