Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Manufacturing Business Operations – Level 3 to join our team in Dulles, VA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

This is a critical role that provides comprehensive support for proposals, baselines, CEACs, and metrics to manage manufacturing cost performance. This role is essential for program execution, planning, and performance management, with a strong emphasis on risk identification, historical data analysis, and predictive performance to meet evolving business needs.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

In this job, you will:
  • Support the OPM organization, Manufacturing, and Programs in all aspects of cost performance management
  • Contribute and support proposals, baselines, CEACs, and the development and tracking of key metrics
  • Provide expertise in program execution, planning, and performance management
  • Identify and assess risks, leveraging historical data and predictive analytics to inform decision-making
  • Maintain and improve tools and templates to ensure quality, producibility, and process compliance for program execution and monitoring
  • Align with industry standards and internal guidelines, emphasizing cost management, program support, risk analysis, and data‑driven decision‑making
  • Identify and incorporate tool advancements for cost performance (e.g., Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools)
  • Track plans and schedules
  • Create, maintain and validate schedule data
  • Perform risk analysis and management
  • Identify and resolve critical path and network logic conflicts
  • Utilize Gantt, milestone charts, Earned Value Management (EVM) and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances
  • Support manufacturing’s ownership of budgets and cost accounting (CAM activities), as well as evaluate and provide critical earned value metrics for manufacturing leadership to ensure production is scaling and efficient
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities based on current manufacturing processes
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineering team as well as the Industrial Engineering teams to ensure metric accuracy and consistency across all manufacturing in Dulles and Gilbert
  • Direct or indirectly manage manufacturing CAMs who are dedicated to specific programs running through the manufacturing work centers
The candidate must possess excellent communication skills - both verbal and written; strong interpersonal skills; a good problem-solving mindset; and the ability to present manufacturing cost metrics visibility at internal meetings to include all levels of management. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
  • Experience leading people and/or project management
  • Experience collaborating across teams and business units
  • Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and Power Point
