Technical Training Designer & Instructor

Location:

Northern Virginia (Onsite)

Chenega Military, Intelligence & Operations Support (MIOS) specializes in supporting large‑scale government operations by leveraging cutting‑edge technology. This role is part of the newly formed Chenega Defense & Aerospace Solutions (CDAS), which delivers expert engineering and technical support services to federal customers.

The Technical Training Designer & Instructor is responsible for designing and developing training curriculum, including analyzing training requirements, creating instructional materials, evaluating program effectiveness, and implementing improvements. The position evaluates delivery methods—classroom, webinar, distance learning, or written briefings—and develops the content that meets evolving program needs.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain new training curriculum, including instructional materials, presentations, multimedia content, and learning resources.
  • Evaluate, adapt, and revise training materials to ensure effectiveness and alignment with program requirements.
  • Analyze training needs and recommend instructional strategies, training, and delivery methods to meet customer requirements.
  • Facilitate and deliver instructor‑led, virtual, on‑demand, and webinar training using Microsoft Teams and other instructional technologies.
  • Serve as primary training design point of contact for the DPM Training Program Administrator, attending regular collaboration meetings both in‑person and virtually.
  • Collaborate with the Department of State DPM Training Program Administrator to ensure quality and uniformity of training materials and program improvements.
  • Conduct research, collaborate with SMEs and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy, standardization, and validation of training.
  • Maintain and manage the Training SharePoint site to keep content current and accessible.
  • Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations to facilitate training (Travel 25%) and accommodate multiple international time zones.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience developing training and instructional materials and providing instructor‑led training
  • 2+ years of experience with the MS Office suite
  • Experience creating graphic materials such as posters, job aids, diagrams, and instructional guides
  • Experience presenting training and presentations to groups, both in‑person and virtually
  • Experience conducting online research to resolve technical issues
  • Secret clearance required
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Diplomatic Pouch and Mail operations/workflows
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient in designing and producing media/materials using graphic elements and software
  • Proficient in creating high‑quality presentations and slide shows
  • Proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PDF applications
  • Proficient in public speaking
  • Able to proactively self‑direct, triage tasks, problem‑solve, and work independently
  • Expert knowledge of MS Power Point
  • Expert knowledge of MS Teams
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Strong knowledge of MS Share Point
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
