This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Hydrogen Safety Engineer, located in Sterling, VA. In this role, you will lead safety assessments for hydrogen-powered systems, develop and implement safety protocols, and ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards. You will conduct risk analyses, evaluate hydrogen systems and infrastructure, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify solutions to minimize risks.

You will also support the testing and validation of hydrogen technologies and provide technical guidance on safety-related matters.

• Expertise in hydrogen systems safety, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance for hydrogen technologies
• Experience with safety engineering for autonomous systems, power systems, or energy storage
• Proficiency in hazard analysis methods such as FMEA, HAZOP, or fault tree analysis
• Strong understanding of hydrogen storage, handling, and transportation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to test, validate, and analyze performance of hydrogen systems
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety, or a related technical field
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or similar industries is highly desirable
