Overview
Principal Electrical Engineer - MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR TOP SECURITY CLEARANCE
Responsibilities- Architect and lead the design of advanced mixed-signal electrical systems, emphasizing modularity, performance, and ruggedization for cUAS platforms.
- Own end-to-end hardware development of scalable systems, integrating high-speed digital designs (including FPGA-based architectures), precision analog sensor interfaces, and robust power delivery solutions.
- Drive schematic capture and component selection from concept through production, ensuring design quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Provide technical leadership for PCB layout, guiding implementation to meet stringent signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC requirements in high-speed, power-dense designs.
- Lead electrical analysis and validation in an R&D environment, leveraging simulation and lab characterization to achieve strong first-pass success across SI/PI, EMI/EMC, and thermal performance.
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, and program teams, collaborating with both domestic and international stakeholders to align technical execution with program goals.
- Mentor engineers and influence engineering best practices, design standards, and system architecture decisions.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience designing and integrating complex hardware systems, preferably in cUAS, satcom, defense, robotics, or wireless communications.
- Deep proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium).
- Strong expertise across digital, power, and RF domains, including software-defined radio and mixed-signal system design.
- Advanced knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC mitigation, and hardware validation/qualification methodologies.
- Demonstrated strength in system-level thinking, root-cause analysis, and hands-on debugging.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical concepts and tradeoffs to diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and drive programs to completion.
