Senior Facilities Project Engineer

Overview

• Oversight of facilities construction projects including new embassy compounds, new office buildings, and large-scale renovations.
• Create, review and submit customer requirements to OBO for new construction and renovations.
• Facilitate design and drawing reconciliation and acceptance with commercial contractors.
• Review construction drawings throughout the construction life cycle, commenting on corrections, adjustments, and changes.
• Act as customer representative to DoS Office of Building Operations (OBO) for infrastructure and project issues.
• Oversee submission, negotiation, and delivery of DoS building permits.
• Responsible for the installation of communications systems that enable long-haul transport connectivity for posts across the globe, including complex baseband and satellite terminals.
• Lead and manage project planning, technical and procedural oversight, project scheduling, installation oversight, and strategic resource allocation.

• Familiarity with customer systems.
• Familiarity with technical security requirements for national security systems.
• Ability to work independently, without oversight or guidance.
• Expertise in multiple telecommunications systems and associated infrastructure.
• Degree in a technical field: networking, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, information systems, telecommunications, or equivalent experience.

• Years of experience required: 9+; education level/major: bachelor's or equivalent work experience.
• Equivalent experience may substitute for educational requirement (yes).

• Required clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph.

Travel requirements, amount, and duration are subject to the needs of the customer and may be more or less than what is listed.

Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph from day one of employment and be crossover eligible.
