Position: VMWare Engineer - TS/SCI w/ Polygraph

Overview

GDIT is seeking a VMware Engineer to support Government activities in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD. The role involves managing physical and virtual platforms, server build deployments, virtualization, and hyperconverged solutions to meet government requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain VMware vSphere cloud foundation infrastructure.
  • Evaluate existing network infrastructure and systems to determine business needs.
  • Develop and deploy customized VMware solutions for diverse platforms.
  • Produce white papers assessing technological advancements and their relevance to customer needs.
  • Oversee technology projects, managing both technical and administrative components.
  • Collaborate with the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to secure an Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Develop plans to ensure systems fulfill specified requirements and apply core concepts to design effective systems.
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate with stakeholders and leaders.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills by evaluating complex issues and identifying solutions.
  • Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations and develop system architecture and design documentation.
Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline plus 6 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education, certification, or work/military experience.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
  • Proficiency in configuring and optimizing virtual machines, storage, and networking.
  • Experience with configuring virtual switches and VLANs.
  • VMware Certified Professional certification required.
  • Ability to learn new virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, VCF, Oracle, or Google Cloud is beneficial.
