We are supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large mission‑critical development and sustainment program to operate a network operations environment and introduce new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats.
Nightwing’s Cyber Offense and Defense Experts (CODEX) program seeks a skilled Full Stack Infrastructure Engineer who can build and maintain an automated patching and security update pipeline in AWS Cloud production and development environments. The engineer will develop an automated security finding, analysis, and remediation pipeline to support CISA’s mission today and into the future.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with Agile Scrum teams as a critical contributor, focusing on the design, testing, and implementation of advanced cybersecurity software solutions.
- Oversee and maintain production systems in an AWS Cloud environment, ensuring reliable operation and security.
- Perform analysis and automated patching, security updates, and remediation of security findings using Ansible.
- Focus on security finding reporting, analysis, and remediation.
- Assist in risk assessments and develop effective mitigation countermeasures.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Active Secret clearance (with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance and DHS suitability).
- 8+ years of directly relevant software development experience.
- 2+ years of directly relevant experience in Agile full‑stack infrastructure engineering.
- Proficiency in Python and pip for software development and automation.
- Experience working with WIZ or Nessus vulnerability findings, reporting, analysis, and automated remediation.
- Demonstrated experience supporting production environments in the AWS Cloud.
- Automated patching and update pipelines for remediation of security findings.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS Systems Manager Patch Manager.
- Proficiency with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Experience analyzing and automatically remediating CVE findings.
- Working knowledge of AWS CLI, Python package updates (system, local, venv), Windows updates, and Linux Yum updates.
- In‑depth knowledge and experience in investigating and automating the remediation of security vulnerabilities.
- Experience with AWS Cloud Watch.
- DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II certification.
- CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. Ten (10) years of experience (for a total of eighteen (18) or more years) may be substituted for a degree.
