General

Roles and Responsibilities

The Cost Engineer will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project costs to ensure financial efficiency and compliance with budgets. This role supports project teams by providing accurate cost estimates, forecasts, and analysis throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects during planning and execution phases.
  • Develop and maintain cost control systems, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Monitor actual costs against budgets and report variances to stakeholders.
  • Perform cost trend analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support procurement and contract teams with cost-related input.
  • Conduct cost risk assessments and value engineering exercises.
  • Prepare and present cost reports to project managers and senior leadership.
  • Evaluate cost impacts of scope changes and assist in change management processes.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in cost engineering or cost control within construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Familiarity with U.S. industry standards and regulations (AACE, ASTM, FAR, etc.).
  • Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., Primavera, SAP, or similar) and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Preferred Certifications

AACE Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or similar credential.

PMP certification is a plus.
