Your ImpactAxon is seeking an experienced Direct Tax Manager to support the continued growth and execution of our global direct tax function. This hands‑on individual contributor role will support key areas including global income tax compliance, ASC 740 tax provision, transfer pricing documentation, Country‑by‑Country Reporting, Pillar Two initiatives, tax accounting, and related process improvement efforts.
This role is ideal for a proactive tax professional who is comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, high‑growth multinational environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in federal, state, and international direct tax matters, as well as tax accounting experience, business acumen, excellent organizational and project management skills, and a hands‑on approach to supporting both recurring tax operations and strategic initiatives.
This person will partner closely with Tax leadership, Accounting, Finance, Legal, IT, external advisors, and international teams to help ensure timely, accurate, and scalable execution of global tax deliverables, while effectively communicating complex tax concepts to stakeholders outside of Tax and identifying opportunities to improve workflows, documentation, automation, and the use of emerging technologies, including AI, across the tax function.
Location
Hybrid Presence based near our U.S. hubs – Boston, San Francisco, Atlanta, Sterling, Seattle, New York City, or Scottsdale. This role follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in‑person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. WhatYou’ll Do
- Gather data and review corporate income tax returns, Country‑by‑Country Reporting, and Pillar Two filings in U.S. and globally and coordinate with outside preparer for returns
- Assist with transfer pricing documentation
- Assist with M&A integration work and new entity expansion
- Preparation and review of quarterly global tax provision computation in accordance with ASC 740
- Manage the direct tax calendar/task matrix for all compliance duties and deadlines
- Manage all tax balance sheet accounts on our GL and prepare monthly close procedures, journal entry preparation and account reconciliations as needed
- Proactively monitor and operate a robust internal control tax environment in compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley or similar requirements
- Respond to questions and issues from business units and functional groups.
- Develop and maintain working relationships outside the finance organization
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and technology solutions that increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve workflows, documentation, research, and team productivity.
- Operate independently and effectively in a high‑growth, high‑change environment with evolving tax priorities.
- Independently lead select direct tax projects and process‑improvement initiatives, with appropriate mentoring and guidance as needed
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Financial Accounting, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- 6‑8 years of relevant experience in the tax accounting profession
- Experience working in or supporting a Big 4 public accounting environment and/or a publicly traded multinational technology company preferred
