Sr. Manager of Accounting and Finance – Roka Security (Roka)
Location:
Dulles, VA. Full-time position.
Nightwing, a technology-driven intelligence, defense, civil, and commercial services provider, is seeking a Sr. Manager of Accounting and Finance to lead the accounting function for the Roka Security business unit. The role partners with the BU Lead, manages day‑to‑day accounting operations, and provides leadership and mentoring for the accounting and finance team.
Responsibilities- Perform daily accounting functions, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, and journal entries in compliance with US GAAP.
- Execute month‑end and year‑end corporate consolidation, prepare financial statements, and provide accounting and reporting guidelines to business units.
- Research and investigate accounting transactions to resolve issues identified.
- Compile and analyze data to support internal reporting to Nightwing leadership and conduct ad‑hoc analyses.
- Maintain and continuously improve internal controls to ensure data integrity and safeguard company assets.
- Document accounting and reporting processes, identify gaps, and develop work instructions.
- Prepare and brief Monthly Operating Review packages for the Business Unit Lead, including forecasts and financial analysis.
- Oversee contract invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and billing status.
- Support audits performed by internal and external auditors and relevant agencies.
- Support front‑end business activities and contribute to strategy on new business initiatives.
- Participate in company‑wide process improvement projects.
- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of related finance experience in accounting, financial management, and business analysis.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Experience with multi‑entity consolidation and intra‑company transactions.
- Experience with multi‑company and international entity accounting.
- Ability to present complex information to all levels of staff and management clearly and concisely.
- Understanding of contract types (CPFF, CPAF, FFP, LOE).
- Strong process‑driven work ethic and effective communication of requirements.
- Capacity to make critical decisions in a rapidly changing business environment based on sound financial principles.
- Ability to analyze the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Forecast, and Short‑Range Outlook.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with task flexibility and sensitivity to customer needs.
- Experience preparing and presenting briefings to customers, management, and peers.
- Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to meet multiple commitments.
- Active TS or TS/SCI clearance required.
- Fluency in all aspects of Accounting and Finance, including Program Controls, Forecasting, and Accounting.
- Small Business subject‑matter expertise.
- CPA credential or preferred qualification.
- Government contracting expertise, including cost‑point experience.
- Executive presence and exceptional analytical, critical‑thinking, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- US citizenship required.
