The National Indian Gaming Commission's primary mission is to work within the framework created by the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) for the regulation of gaming activities conducted by tribes on Indian lands to fully realize IGRA's goals: (1) promoting tribal economic development, self-sufficiency and strong tribal governments; (2) maintaining the integrity of the Indian gaming industry; and (3) ensuring that tribes are the primary beneficiaries of their gaming activities.
EducationA Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in public affairs, political science, public relations, communications, business administration, journalism, marketing or equivalent course of study from an accredited university or college is required.
ExperienceServing as a senior public affairs specialist with the responsibility for overseeing the development, implementation, and coordination of public affairs strategies for an organization, and supervising individuals or teams in the development and implementation of communication strategies that support organizational messaging. Your experience must include at least one year providing recommendations to top management involving significant matters that contributed to the development of an organization's established precedents on public affairs issues.
