Position: REGULATORY ANALYST
Job Title
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, Office of Offshore Regulatory Programs, Regulations and Standards Branch, Sterling, Virginia.
At the full performance level (GS-14) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Ensures that all information collection activities adhere to the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) of 1995;
The Administrative Procedure Act (5 U.S.C. 551-553); and other applicable legislation and OMB directives.Provides expert advice and technical assistance to key managers in all functional areas of information collection. Works with BSEE managers to ensure that management requirements, especially scheduling, are met within the constraints of legislation, regulations, Executive Orders, OMB and other oversight agency requirements, and Departmental and BSEE guidelines.Ensures that all requests for OMB approval of information collection, approved Bureau information collection instruments, and required Federal Register Notices informing the public of proposed Bureau information collections are timely and follow OMB regulations, design requirements and guidelines.Partners with the Senior Regulatory Analyst for new rule making on information collection for all new rule making. Ensures appropriate OMB forms and supporting documentation for information collection are prepared and processed according to prescribed OMB regulations.Establishes and maintains an updated status listing of all PRA submissions currently under review.Provides assistance to appropriate program staff in review of public comments submitted in response to Federal Register Notices pertaining to information collection.The Bureau of Environmental Safety and Enforcement has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Salary Information
$ (Step
1) to $ (Step 10) per annum. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
