Information Review and Release Analyst

We will also consider candidates with 11 or more years of experience in a position requiring analytic skills (such as intelligence analysts, foreign disclosure officers, CD/CI/CT analysts, etc.) AND a demonstrated familiarity with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).A Bachelors’ degree in any liberal arts, scientific or technical discipline will be considered equivalent to three (3) years of relevant experience.

A Master’ degree is equivalent to an additional one (1) year of experience

** Nightwing seeks a full-time Information Review and Release Analyst (expert) in the Herndon, VA area in support of the Intelligence Community. The position requires an individual to review and thoroughly research requests for the release of information in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). These requests are submitted directly to the IC component by the general public or received upon referral or coordination from other government agencies.

The person in this position serves as an analyst and case manager; from the receipt of the initial request letter, to creating case documentation and researching prior requests. They also review information and make recommendations for releasability, which includes collaborating with other government agency (OGA) counterparts, prior to the final consolidation of IC component element response and release decisions back to the requester.
The candidate must be able to successfully apply critical-thinking skills when evaluating each unique case and then utilize a broad array of customer systems and tools in order to accurately conduct the review and release process. Due to the complexity of most requests, time management and the ability to collaborate with other team members is a must. The selected candidate must be able to consistently deliver high-quality, accurate work, and be willing to perform ad hoc duties as needed.
