Overview

Join our AWS Data Center Team as a Data Center Technician. You will maintain hardware and network infrastructure, perform diagnostics and repairs, and participate in on-call rotations to support global cloud infrastructure.

• Perform server rack installations, hardware break-fix on components, troubleshoot network issues, respond to operational incidents affecting service availability, and carry out routine repairs of server hardware and operating systems to contribute to AWS service availability
• Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors
• Participate in on-call duties and scheduled maintenance and change management activities
• Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues
• Assist with interviewing, training, and onboarding new team members

• Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds
• Working in cramped and/or elevated locations
• Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching
• Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours per day
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely

• Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (night and day shifts)
• Role may require travel to different data centers or facilities, including during training

• Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed
• Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training or until assigned facility is operational
• Travel frequency varies based on business needs

• Experience in computer networking
• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
• Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds

• Ability to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while following health and safety guidelines
• Experience handling customers during problem resolution and working under pressure
• Experience managing work and priorities via a ticketing system
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices
• Experience in a data center environment (racking and stacking, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
