This position is embedded within multiple datacenters and involves ongoing maintenance and repair of electronic security devices and door hardware. Technicians will work in live building environments alongside client personnel, external vendors, and their clients. A successful Embedded Electronic Security Technician works independently, with minimal supervision, provides daily updates on ticket work performed, and seeks support from their team manager as needed.
Responsibilities- Execute, track, and update ticket assignments.
- Maintain professionalism in client interactions with a focus on excellent communications.
- Coordinate with other stakeholders involved with tickets.
- Read and understand written specifications, drawings, and controlling documents; maintain current and accurate documentation of systems.
- Record changes made to systems for accurate change management.
- Perform user training as required when improper user operation is observed.
- Perform all work in a manner consistent with policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure repairs are tested with clients and accepted before closing tickets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Working knowledge of general access control systems; experience with Genetec, Lenel, and Mercury is strongly preferred.
- Effective use of diagnostic tools such as a multimeter, line toner, and cable tester.
- Experience utilizing boom and scissor lift equipment and/or platform ladders on a daily basis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Creative and resourceful problem‑solving for uncommon applications.
- Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere.
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast‑paced environment.
