Cloud Engineer

Nightwing is a technology partner providing advanced cyber, data operations, systems integration, and intelligence mission‑support services. We are seeking a cleared and experienced Cloud Engineer to design, develop, and implement cloud solutions for globally available applications.

• Design, develop, and implement cloud solutions for globally available applications.
• Design failover clusters for high availability and disaster recovery in Windows environments.
• Provision, configure, and optimize Net App Storage solutions.
• Integrate Linux systems within a Windows‑centric environment.
• Manage Microsoft 365 services, including migration, configuration, and management of cloud services.
• Use cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Open Stack) to build resilient, durable, scalable solutions.
• Write scripts in Bash, Python, and Ansible to automate tasks and workflows.
• Deploy containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Apply infrastructure‑as‑code via Terraform and Cloud Formation.
• Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of customer foundational footprints and capabilities.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and engineers to recommend and design database/data‑storage solutions that meet business, security, and service level requirements.
• Conduct proof‑of‑concepts (POC) and implement designs in production environments.
• Evaluate current applications to recommend migration paths and future architectures.
• Analyze applications for data‑integrity issues.
• Design, build, automate, and document a multi‑tier managed‑service platform.
• Build automation to support the managed services platform.
• Produce template documents, procedures, or guides for managed services.
• Assist with installation, configuration, and technical documentation/training materials for cloud management platforms.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.

• Minimum 3 years of professional cloud experience.
• Experience designing, developing, deploying, and testing in Azure architecture (AWS, GCP, Open Stack experience is also required).
• Proficient in MS Windows Server operating systems – configuration, management, and troubleshooting.
• Expertise in designing failover clusters for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Net App Storage solutions – configuration, management, and optimization.
• Linux experience; ability to integrate and manage Linux systems within a Windows‑centric environment.
• Experience with MS 365 solutions, including migration, configuration, and management.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, and Ansible.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tools like Terraform and Cloud Formation.
• Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to go the extra mile to meet time‑critical requirements.

• Knowledge of CSFC (Department of Defense Central Security Framework).
• Knowledge of a customer field environment.

• BS in Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent experience may substitute for the educational requirement.

• Requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph on day 1.
• May require up to 10% OCONUS travel and up to 10% CONUS travel.
