Overview
We are seeking an MCM Engineer to support Government activities in Annapolis Junction, MD or Sterling, VA, working with Desktop Engineering Services. The role focuses on engineering solutions for software deployment, patch deployment, configuration, IT baselines, importing and testing, within the enterprise.
Responsibilities- Utilize Microsoft MCM to provide user workstation baseline configuration and administer operating systems.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve system problems with short‑term workarounds and long‑term solutions.
- Write Power Shell scripts to automate systems administration tasks.
- Provide guidance and leadership to less‑experienced systems engineers.
- Deploy security updates, vulnerability patches, hotfixes, and other updates to user workstations and servers using MCM.
- Develop and maintain baseline images for servers and laptops, adding the latest security updates, software versions, hotfixes, and patches.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirement (Security+, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline with 8 years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education, technical certification, training, or work/military experience.
- Expert level experience with SCCM and WSUS.
- Solid understanding of VMware vCenter.
- Functional understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and Active Directory.
- Expertise in MDT and MCM (capturing images, creating packages, advertisements, task sequences, operating system deployment, and queries).
- Familiarity with DISA STIGs for Windows operating systems.
- Expertise with IAVA process including RMF release process, testing, approval, and deployment processes.
- Solid knowledge of Active Directory Security Groups, OUs, DNS, and GPO management.
- Microsoft Software Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or equivalent.
- Microsoft 365 Certified:
Modern Desktop Administrator Associate. - Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
