ITAR Compliance Director
At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. As an ITAR Compliance Director you will oversee Axon’s International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) program, focusing on our Dedrone product line and future federal R&D.
Your ImpactLead the development and execution of a company‑wide ITAR compliance program, maintain product classifications, manage licenses, guide policy, and collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, marketing, legal, and Info Sec.
What You’ll Do- Manage Axon’s ITAR compliance program, including product classification, license management, policy enforcement, and training.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on regulatory requirements and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate with R&D, engineering, marketing, sales, legal, executive leadership, and Info Sec.
- Investigate and report suspected ITAR violations.
- Maintain documentation and records.
- Engage with government agencies such as BIS and DDTC.
- Provide recurrent training and guidance for internal stakeholders.
- Monitor industry and regulatory updates.
- Experience managing ITAR compliance programs, including licensing and product classification.
- Familiarity with International Traffic in Arms Regulations and related trade regulatory programs globally.
- Knowledge of dual‑use and other national arms regulations (e.g., EU, UK Section 5, Germany BAFA).
- Experience with TAA and other international technical assistance & research agreements.
- Multi‑nation supply chain experience.
- Cloud‑based data management and project coordination skills.
- Strong collaboration mindset and integrity in trade compliance.
Hybrid schedule from one of our hub locations (DC, Boston, or Scottsdale). Tuesdays‑Friday onsite, Monday remote unless accommodations exist.
