Network Engineer, IT Support, Network Administrator
AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing infrastructure operations team. The role involves troubleshooting and scaling next-generation networks, automating processes, and supporting data center operations with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support for self-powered and self-maintained networks at data center locations.
- Assist with capacity management and migration of new or upgraded hardware.
- Collaborate with internal customers, vendors, leadership, and technical project managers to execute projects.
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflows.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues.
- Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure proper hardware racking/stacking.
- Track network rack intake and delivery, request rack space, power, and cooling, and coordinate with engineers for configuration readiness.
- Participate in console and room builds, and build higher-level networking devices with
-Scaling peers.
Physical Requirements Are Expected With Reasonable Accommodations
- Lift or move up to 40 pounds, with group lifts for 41+ pounds.
- Work in a 24/7 environment and participate in primary responder rotation and after-hours support.
- Work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments.
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
Travel within and outside of the regional work area is required. A reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license are necessary.
Basic Qualifications- 1+ year(s) of computer networking experience.
- 1+ year(s) of Linux operating systems experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware.
- Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Experience working in cramped spaces or elevated locations while following health and safety guidelines.
- Customer-oriented problem resolution skills under pressure.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Experience in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
- Industry-standard certification such as CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+.
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, test-net connection, tracert, etc.).
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP.
Compensation ranges from $30.00 to $54.00 USD hourly. The total package may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Benefits include health, dental, vision, prescription, life insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
