Sr. IT Field Technician
JEDA is seeking a technically proficient Sr. IT Field Technician to support enterprise IT infrastructure deployments across commercial, data center, and customer environments. This role provides on-site customer support for smart hands, supporting server, network, and structured cabling infrastructure.
This is a full-time position ideal for candidates with strong hands-on technical skills who want long-term growth, technical advancement, and exposure to enterprise-scale IT environments. JEDA will consider both senior-level candidates and technically capable individuals with foundational IT knowledge who are motivated to grow within the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise IT hardware and CPE devices
- Perform rack-and-stack operations for servers, switches, routers, and related infrastructure
- Install, label, test, and document structured cabling (copper and fiber)
- Execute network patching and port mapping per engineering cut sheets and diagrams
- Troubleshoot physical (Layer
1) and basic network (Layer
2) connectivity issues - Support data center operations including equipment moves, adds, and changes (MACs)
- Utilize command-line interfaces (CLI) for diagnostics, validation, and hardware testing
- Follow change management, safety, and site access procedures
- Travel to customer sites locally and nationally as required
Requirements
- Traveling up to 80%.
- Ability to lift and handle equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to safely use ladders and work in elevated spaces.
- Willingness to travel locally and nationally.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to provide proof of citizenship.
Technical Qualifications (Preferred)
- Enterprise server and network hardware experience.
- Structured cabling installation, termination, labeling, and certification.
- Rack elevation planning and equipment mounting.
- Hardware diagnostics and break/fix support.
- Hyperscale Data Centers and/or AI Supercluster knowledge.
- Command-line experience (Linux, network devices, or hardware consoles).
- Data center experience (hot/cold aisle, raised floor, cage deployments).
