Raytheon’s Mission Applied Science & Technology (MAST) directorate is seeking a Lead Applied Imagery Scientist and Data Scientist with deep experience using machine learning including neural networks and computer vision to develop research prototypes, and transition them to production‑grade analytics pipelines to join the MAST AIML Solutions team. The MAST directorate is an energetic multi‑disciplinary team of over 60 engineers working collaboratively with internal and external customers to develop novel solutions for data science and emerging technology applications.

Our team pushes the boundaries of innovation and creativity to establish next‑generation mission solutions from system‑level up to campaign level.

This position is onsite. You will be required to work at our Dulles, VA facility and/or the customer facility in Springfield, VA.

• Partner with a multi‑disciplinary team to design, develop, and deliver new features for Python and Java machine learning and AI applications
• Train, evaluate, and refine machine learning models using geospatial and imagery data
• Develop and integrate new algorithms for machine learning, computer vision, and imagery science workflows
• Maintain, optimize, and extend existing codebases to improve performance, scalability, and reliability
• Communicate progress, technical insights, and risks to leadership within an Agile environment

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
