Security Systems Technician – Data Center Security Operations
Wage: $70,000-$85,000/ annually

Location: Hybrid – Virginia, with three days per week expected on site and travel to assigned data center locations throughout Virginia and the Eastern Region as required.
Position SummaryThe Security Systems Technician is a hands-on technical resource supporting electronic physical security systems across the data center portfolio. The position administers, troubleshoots, maintains, and improves enterprise access control, video management, intrusion detection, intercom, locking, security-network, and related infrastructure. The role reports to the Global Program Manager, Security Design and Integration; provides advanced technical escalation; coordinates service-ticket execution; validates vendor workmanship;
supports the Senior Project Manager with security design and project delivery; and helps train peer technicians. This is a technical individual-contributor role with no direct reports; it does not own project budgets, schedules, personnel management, or formal stakeholder governance.
- Systems Administration and Technical Support:
Administer, inspect, diagnose, maintain, and perform authorized repairs or configuration changes for Lenel OnGuard, Milestone XProtect, associated servers, workstations, cameras, readers, controllers, intercoms, sensors, locks, alarm devices, and supporting network infrastructure. - Monitor system health and service queues; independently resolve complex faults and provide complete diagnostics, logs, documentation, and recommended next actions when escalation is required.
- Perform approved software, firmware, configuration, database, and device updates in accordance with change-control, cybersecurity, and client standards.
- Maintain accurate inventories, configurations, drawings, credentials, service records, assignment instructions, and site documentation.
- Provide limited desktop and security-application support for the DSOC when directly related to security operations or system functionality; route general corporate IT issues to the appropriate support team.
- Service Delivery and On-Call Escalation:
Coordinate daily service tickets across the technical team, support regional work assignment, verify timely acknowledgement, and follow tickets through accurate resolution within applicable KPIs and SLAs. - Serve as the escalation point for urgent and after-hours issues and participate equitably in the established after-hours support rotation.
- Communicate incident status, risk, workaround, restoration, and follow-up actions clearly to client stakeholders, employer leadership, vendors, and support teams.
- Maintain accurate technical coverage information, on-call calendar entries, and authorized system-access records; conduct or support quarterly access reviews.
- Project, Design, and Vendor Quality Support:
Provide technical support to the Senior Project Manager for planned after-hours work, commissioning, cutovers, expansions, decommissions, and redundancy initiatives; project governance, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder management remain with the Senior Project Manager. - Conduct kickoff and quality-assurance site walks with integrators; inspect installations against approved drawings, standards, labeling, workmanship, and acceptance criteria.
- Support development and technical review of CCTV, access-control, and security-cabling designs under the direction of the Global Program Manager, Security Design and Integration, and in coordination with the Senior Project Manager and applicable design authority.
