Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector invites you to bring your pioneering spirit to our collaborative team. As a Contracts Manager – Manager Level 3 (Senior Manager) located in Dulles, VA
, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
The Manager Contract Administration 3 will produce high quality Contract Management related products supporting the NGSP Space Superiority Division (SSD) Space Segment Production (SSP) Operating Unit. This position requires an understanding of DOD contracting, excellent communication skills, strong technology acumen in M365, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is a team player; but also, a strong leader, demonstrated problem-solver, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
The Manager Contract Administration 3 will be required to deal effectively with competing priorities and deadlines and handle multiple tasks. The Manager Contract Administration 3 must possess the ability to work well with others in high-stress high-volume situations, effectively interface with internal functional and program organizations, and meet the goals/objectives of the SSP operating unit.
This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
Roles and responsibilities of the Manager Contract Administration 3 will include the following:- Vision & Strategy – Define and communicate a clear, forward‑looking contract strategy aligned with business objectives and the broader Northrop Grumman mission.
- People Leadership – Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team of contract professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Customer Relationship Management – Build and sustain senior‑level relationships with customers and internal program stakeholders, acting as the trusted advisor on contractual risk, requirements, and opportunities.
- Risk & Compliance Oversight – Provide expert counsel to senior leadership on contractual obligations, FAR/DFAR compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Business Development Support – Partner with proposal teams to shape winning strategies, ensuring contract terms support long‑term customer value and organizational goals.
- Operational Excellence – Drive process improvements, change management, and the adoption of M365 tools to enhance efficiency and quality of contract deliverables.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience including people management experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience including people management experience.
- 2+ years of management experience and demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop talent
- Strong technical acumen in contract management
- Strong technical acumen in M365
- Financial acumen
- An in-depth knowledge of FAR, DFAR and experience with different contract types
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to make recommendations and effectively bring projects to completion
