Purchasing Specialist
Purchasing Specialist – Logistics. Based in Sterling, VA with CACI’s Supply Chain team, responsible for procuring materials, coordinating with operations, project managers and engineers to support production schedules.
Responsibilities- Responsible for material procurement of new and existing products within a Tier 1 ERP system.
- Expedite material as needed to support the production schedule of products, assemblies and subassemblies through close coordination with Program Management and Manufacturing.
- Work directly with materials and manufacturing personnel to communicate procurement delivery schedules and identify real and potential shortages.
- Point of contact for contract and internal manufacturers, managing aspects including transfer of manufacturing information, material procurement and end of life, resolution of quality issues, return material authorizations, and material disposition.
- Work closely with site leadership to determine optimal inventory levels and order quantities.
- Review all purchase orders, requisitions and quotes for applicability, correctness and compliance.
- Support proposal activity with bill‑of‑material costing and lead‑time analysis.
- Track and report on vendor performance metrics.
- Assist with evaluation, auditing and management of new and existing sources of supply.
- Manage master data to maintain MRP system accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years related experience in a MRP manufacturing environment or related technical discipline with an equivalent combination of skills, education and experience.
- ASCM or other supply chain certification.
- Experience in materials planning, sourcing or procurement in a production environment.
- Product lifecycle experience in manufacturing and PLM database knowledge desirable.
- Understanding of engineering and manufacturing bills of material and drawings, BOM structures, manufacturing test and quality control processes.
- Ability to manage and exceed at delivering on multiple high‑priority tasks.
- Strong team collaboration and analytical skills with the ability to execute and follow‑through on tasks to completion.
- Superior organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail and a high degree of initiative.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of MRP purchasing, Outlook and Excel (vlookup, pivot tables) including spreadsheet creation, calculation and reporting.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management systems.
- Strong oral, verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptable to growth and continually evolving requirements.

Salary Range$59,600 – $122,100
