Position:
Senior Systems Engineer (Onsite, Sterling, VA)

• Capture, analyze, decompose, model, translate and create requirements for large complex systems.
• Interface with customers, program managers, and internal stakeholders to align technical solutions with mission requirements.
• Ensure training systems accurately represent aircraft mission systems, including radar, communications, and command & control functions.
• Support the transition of products from prototype to production, including design reviews and documentation.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and simulation engineers to integrate subsystems into cohesive training solutions.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies related to system performance, integration, and delivery.
• Support upgrades, modifications, and obsolescence management for existing training systems.

• STEM degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Active, transferable U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Experience with capture, analysis, and decomposition of system requirements.
• Understanding of the product development lifecycle—from CONOPS to sustainment.
• Experience with MBSE tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect, Cameo) using SysML.
• Experience with avionics or mission systems.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 10% of time.

• 15+ years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or simulation/training systems.
• Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Background in simulation and training system development.
• Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment.
• Familiarity with real-time systems, distributed simulation, or virtual training environments.
• Experience with hardware/software integration and lab environments.
• Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and standards.
