As a Surface Finishing Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the durability and aesthetic quality of our manufactured components. You will utilize your expertise in industrial spray application and material preparation to deliver high-performance finishes that meet rigorous industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Execute precise surface preparation, including masking, cleaning, and racking, to ensure optimal coating adhesion.
- Operate and calibrate industrial spray guns and powder application systems to maintain consistent finish quality.
- Monitor the curing process, verifying temperature and dwell times to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Conduct thorough quality inspections to identify and rectify surface defects, ensuring every part meets appearance and thickness requirements.
- Maintain equipment, spray booths, and tooling to maximize operational efficiency and prevent downtime.
- Manage coating materials and hazardous waste according to safety protocols and environmental guidelines.
- Interpret complex work orders and engineering drawings to ensure accurate production output.
Qualifications
Required Skills- Proven mechanical aptitude and ability to operate industrial coating machinery.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform precise manual tasks.
- Physical capability to lift up to 75 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to document production data accurately.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 1-2 years of experience in metal fabrication finishing or industrial painting.
- Familiarity with MIL-SPEC coating standards and application techniques.
- Experience with professional spray equipment such as Graco or Titan systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
