Job Title: Registered Nurse – Infection Preventionist (RN)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as an Infection Preventionist
. This role is responsible for leading and maintaining the Infection Prevention and Control Program to ensure a safe, compliant, and high-quality care environment within a long-term care setting.

• Lead and manage the Infection Prevention and Control Program
• Conduct infection surveillance, tracking, and reporting
• Monitor and ensure compliance with CDC, federal, and state infection control regulations
• Perform regular rounds to assess infection control practices and patient safety
• Develop and implement infection prevention policies, protocols, and education programs
• Provide infection control training and guidance to clinical staff
• Investigate, document, and manage infection outbreaks and incidents
• Collaborate with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to improve quality and safety outcomes

• Active RN License in Virginia (in good standing)
• Minimum 3+ years of long-term care or skilled nursing experience
• Strong knowledge of infection prevention, surveillance, and LTC regulations
• Experience with infection control audits, reporting, and compliance
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel and healthcare documentation systems
