We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Coordinator to lead and support safety initiatives within a fast-paced data center environment. This role is responsible for implementing safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a strong culture of safety across all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate brings a balance of field expertise and executive-level communication skills, with the ability to engage both technicians on-site and senior leadership effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Day shift: 6 am - 6 pm (5-7 days/week, 60-84 hours)
- Night shift: 6 pm - 6 am (5-7 days/week, 60-84 hours)
All hours over 40 are paid 1.5x
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment
- Develop, execute, and revise safety training programs and materials for both new and existing employees
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, laws, and industry standards
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments to identify risks and non-compliance
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses; ensure proper reporting and documentation
- Develop and implement corrective and preventative actions to mitigate future risks
- Promote a proactive safety culture by providing guidance and coaching on safe work practices
- Analyze safety data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement
- Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to leadership on safety performance and initiatives
- Develop and maintain project-level emergency response plans and procedures
- Conduct emergency drills and ensure workforce preparedness
- Evaluate and monitor safety performance of vendors and contractors on-site
- Ensure contractor compliance with all safety policies and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate and compliant records of safety activities, incidents, and training Required
Strong working knowledge of:
- Fall Protection
- Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP)
- Electrical Safety
- In-depth understanding of safety regulations, standards, and best practices
- Experience with safety management systems and compliance tracking
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all organizational levels
- Proven experience as a Safety Coordinator, preferably within a data center or similar high‑risk environment
- Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring safety professionals
- Hands‑on experience supporting safety operations in data center environments
- Ability to effectively communicate with both field personnel and executive leadership
Preferred:
Bilingual in English and Spanish (not required)
OSHA 30 certification required to be considered
Certifications (Preferred)- CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician)
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED Instructor certification
- NSC (National Safety Council) certification preferred
- OSHA #3115 – Fall Protection (formerly OSHA #3110 Fall Arrest Systems)
- OSHA #7115 – Lockout/Tagout
- NFPA 70E (2021 edition or later)
