We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical QA/QC Director to lead the development, implementation, and continuous innovation of a best-in-class Quality Assurance and Quality Control program for a premier electrical contractor serving the mission critical and complex construction markets throughout Northern Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region.

This role is strategic and operational in nature, requiring a proven leader who has successfully built, transformed, or significantly enhanced QA/QC programs within an electrical contracting environment. The ideal candidate brings deep electrical construction expertise combined with a strong understanding of quality systems, field execution, commissioning readiness, risk mitigation, and client-driven performance standards across data centers, critical infrastructure, federal, and highly technical commercial projects.

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive company-wide QA/QC program tailored to complex electrical construction projects.
  • Establish standardized quality processes, procedures, inspections, documentation protocols, and reporting systems across all business units and project sites.
  • Drive innovation in quality management practices, leveraging technology, analytics, field feedback, and industry best practices to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Create scalable quality metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and audit systems to measure program effectiveness and project compliance.
  • Lead root cause analysis initiatives and corrective/preventive action programs to minimize deficiencies, rework, and operational risk.
  • Partner with project executives, operations leaders, project managers, superintendents, and field teams to ensure quality standards are integrated throughout all phases of construction.
  • Provide oversight and support for inspection planning, testing procedures, turnover documentation, commissioning readiness, and client acceptance processes.
  • Conduct project audits, field evaluations, and quality reviews to ensure adherence to company standards, contract requirements, NEC compliance, and client specifications.
  • Support preconstruction and operations teams in identifying quality-related risks and constructability concerns early in project planning.
  • Assist in developing project-specific QA/QC plans for mission critical, federal, and technically complex projects.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing QA/QC team capable of supporting large-scale electrical construction operations.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and proactive quality ownership throughout the organization.
  • Deliver training and education programs focused on quality standards, electrical installation best practices, documentation requirements, and lessons learned.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to executive leadership on quality strategy and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Interface directly with clients, inspectors, engineers, commissioning agents, and third-party consultants regarding quality performance and compliance matters.
  • Support business development and client retention efforts by demonstrating the organization’s commitment to quality and operational excellence.
  • Stay current on evolving industry standards, electrical codes, commissioning requirements, federal quality standards, and mission critical construction trends.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Extensive experience across relevant industries, including complex commercial, data center, and/or federal.
  • Quality certifications such as CQE, CQM-C, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar are a plus.
  • Experience with commissioning, turnover, and mission critical startup processes strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with BIM/VDC integration, digital quality management platforms, and field technology tools.
  • Company 401k match
  • Flexible, hybrid working from the office in Sterling, VA
