Ott Test Technician, Electronics
Reporting to the Operations Manager, Manufacturing & Operations, the Test Technician will support our Manufacturing team by performing tests on Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) and data loggers following defined Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs). The role includes updating ATPs for accuracy, collaborating with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, and working cross‑functionally to meet production goals.
Location:
Ott facilities in Sterling, VA.
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday day shift; overtime and weekends may be required.
Typical day:
- Perform PCBA and data logger testing per current ATPs.
- Recommend updates to ATPs to maintain testing accuracy.
- Collaborate directly with Engineering to troubleshoot process and product performance issues.
- Support production teams cross‑functionally to meet delivery schedules and resolve test‑related challenges.
- Document test results and communicate failures or anomalies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, reliability, and efficiency.
Essential requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a test or manufacturing environment with electronic components or systems.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, data acquisition tools).
- Minimum 1 year of experience reading and interpreting technical documents, schematics, and test procedures.
Preferred qualifications:
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Experience in a cross‑functional team environment.
- Experience with an ERP system.
- Background in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data entry/reporting tools.
