Satellite Systems Installer

Nightwing is seeking a cleared and experienced Satellite Installer/Field Engineer located in Fairfax, VA. The selected candidate will repair, test, and deploy satellite devices to support a global network and work with a team installing antenna systems ranging from 1 to 4 meters worldwide.

• Repair, test, and deploy satellite devices in support of a global network.
• Install new satellite antenna systems ranging in size from 1meter to 4meters at worldwide locations.
• Travel OCONUS to conduct site surveys and install/repair RF equipment.
• Design, update, and record all aspects of satellite system installations and connectivity.
• Train customers in the operation and testing of installed satellite systems.
• Compose, review, and provide updates to technical documentation.

• Minimum 6+ years of experience in satellite terminal operations, circuit restoration, maintenance, installation—including fiber optics—and upgrading of communication facilities.
• Proficiency with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, digital data test sets, oscilloscopes, power meters, and multimeters for both loop and end‑to‑end testing.
• Basic knowledge of trades and safety protocols, including electrical (commercial), carpentry, and procedures for working around heavy equipment (cranes, forklifts, etc.).
• Knowledge of relevant RF/satellite technologies.
• US citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance and polygraph, crossover eligible, from day one of employment.
• Proficiency in working in customer field environments and with OCONUS travel (up to 50% TDY).
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (BS/BA) or equivalent experience; equivalency may be accepted.
• Weapons certification not required; no professional license or certification required.
• OCONUS TDY required (up to 50%); CONUS TDY not required.

• Understanding of customer field environment.
• Experience with OCONUS travel.
