Job Description

Diesel Mechanic – Fleet Technician – Ready-Mix (260001FP) is a full‑time position with Vulcan Materials Company, the nation’s largest producer of construction aggregates.

• Promote safety by following MSHA and company standards, lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, and environmental rules.
• Repair, maintain, adjust, and test Concrete Ready Mix Trucks and support equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance such as lubricating, adjustments, failure analysis, and corrective repairs.
• Repair hydraulic hoses, lighting, brakes, suspension, and AC work.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot errors, diagnose defects, and perform necessary repairs.
• Create work orders and document all repairs and services.
• Communicate with personnel to ensure proper, safe, and preventative vehicle maintenance.
• Use various equipment, such as cutting torch, air and hand tools, jacks, grinders, and drill press.
• Perform physical activities that require moving the whole body and considerable use of arms and legs (e.g., climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping).
• Other duties as assigned.

• Previous experience in the mechanical field is required.
• MED HVY Truck ASE Certification is preferred.
• Must be able to read memos, instructions, and communicate verbally with colleagues to solve problems.
• Must be able to add, subtract, and apply basic units of measurement.
• Must be willing to work overtime, extended hours, and outside in all types of weather and noise conditions.

Hourly range: $24.50 – $37.00 (excluding discretionary bonuses or equity).
