Requirements Irrigation and Lighting TechnicianTitle: Irrigation and Lighting Technician
Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $60,000 to $80,000, plus OT pay and performance incentives
Location: Sterling, VA
Job Summary :
The primary role of the Irrigation/Lighting Technician is to service, repair, and install outdoor irrigation and lighting systems using best practices under a contract between the client(s) and the company. The Technician will demonstrate proficiency in installing, servicing, and repairing the well-known manufacturer’s systems and will possess advanced knowledge, including the safe and proper use of industry tools and equipment, as well as an understanding of more complex systems and designs.

Key Responsibilities:- Irrigation Production
- Install, service, and maintain efficient irrigation systems to optimize plant growth and ensure proper water distribution. This includes making seasonal adjustments to provide appropriate irrigation for planting beds and turf grass areas throughout the year. - Lighting Production
- Efficient production and maintenance of lighting systems for optimal functionality and performance. Troubleshoot lighting issues, including but not limited to wire shorts, voltage drops, bulb replacements, and transformer problems. - Water Feature Maintenance - maintenance of water features such as fountains, ponds, waterfalls, etc. Already familiar with, or willing to learn, how to properly manage water quality across various water feature settings.
- Snow Service Site Management
- Provide winter-related services such as snow service and winterization of irrigation and water features, as well as preparation for warmer months. - Special Projects
- Be part of special project developments. - Time Keeping and Working Within Budget
- Perform job tasks according to budgeted hours and materials. Record time and materials by task and job daily through Aspire. - Safety and Compliance with Company Policy
- Ensuring safety protocols and regulatory compliance while operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting lighting and irrigation systems.
- Interpret and follow a lighting and irrigation design plan.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, service, and repair residential landscape lighting and irrigation systems.
- Ability to work within a budget of time and materials.

Experience:
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) or Certified Irrigation Designer – Landscape (CID – Landscape) preferred.
- Virginia backflow test certificate, preferred
- A minimum of 2 years of irrigation and lighting crew experience required or similar vocational training.
- Effective supervisory experience is a plus.
- Experience servicing all aspects of our clients' lighting & irrigation systems (e.g., start-ups/winterizations, repairs, mapping out irrigation areas, installing equipment, seasonal adjustments, etc.), including water features.
