S​/W Q.A. Spec​/App Tester - Senior

Job Overview

The Kodiak program has an opening for an Automated Tester who will work as part of a small test team supporting multiple software applications in varying stages of deployment, from emerging technologies to legacy systems. The role requires knowledge of modern automated testing methodologies and technologies.

• Perform manual testing when coding an automated solution is impractical or not desirable.
• Collaborate with application developers to support performance/load testing to fully evaluate application capabilities as the technology stack expands.

• Experience with SQL queries for data validation (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL)
• Expert in Selenium Web Driver
• Emphasis of experience must be in writing automated code (Java) rather than click and record
• Must be able to evaluate developer assignments, independently understand requirements, and engineer tests to evaluate best path scenario as well as probe for possible failure conditions
• Must know to use an IDE to code (ex - Intelli
  
  J, Eclipse, Net Beans)
• Experience with interacting in a Linux environment (ex - Bash scripting, vi)
• Expertise in writing test plans, cases, procedures, scripts, and scenarios
• Demonstrated history with manual and automated test processes
• Ability to work well in a constantly evolving work environment
• Ensure the QA and testing approach references all known vulnerabilities and best practices
• Conduct and report testing using a repeatable process based on industry best practices
• Maintain and update the test environment
• Must have development skills, as automated testing is a lot of writing code
• Solid hands‑on experience testing tools such as JMeter and/or Selenium
