Senior Software Engineer - Dev Ops / Infrastructure (Onsite)
Location:
Sterling, VA (Sterling, VA, US). Onsite work required. U.S. citizenship required for security clearance and a current Secret clearance is mandatory.

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company. The Strategic Defense Solutions portfolio is seeking a skilled software engineer to develop integrated simulation and training solutions for aerospace and defense customers.
- Support and develop automation solutions enabling teams to build and deploy code efficiently and consistently.
- Take ownership of the program’s CI/CD pipeline, optimizing code integration and delivering the simulation environment.
- Use troubleshooting skills to resolve issues with build chains or CI/CD pipeline tools.
- Identify manual processes for automation with strategic recommendations for improvement.
- Consider the entire CI/CD infrastructure when making changes and improvements.
- University degree (or advanced degree) and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (or 3 years with an advanced degree).
- Active U.S. government‑issued Secret security clearance (current and transferable). U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience with Git Lab, Jira, Confluence, Coverity, Nexus, Artifactory, and Splunk.
- Server‑side scripting:
Python, Bash, Power Shell. - Agile Development Methodologies (Scrum, SAFe).
- Experience in Linux and Windows environments.
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs) and virtual network configuration.
- Virtualization: VMware, Proxmox.
- Continuous integration for real‑time testing and diagnostics.
- Automation frameworks:
Ansible, Terraform, Puppet. - Deploying, configuring, and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
- IaaS/PaaS integration:
Red Hat Open Shift, VMware, Open Stack. - Cloud networking L2/L3, spine‑leaf architecture.
- Microservices using RESTful APIs.
- Container orchestration:
Docker, Podman, Kubernetes. - Database technologies: SQL, No
SQL (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MonetDB). - Experience with JSON, XML, YAML, XSD.
- Legacy system refactoring for cloud or virtual environments.
- Development IDEs:
Visual Studio, VS Code. - Certifications:
Security+, CISSP, CCNA or equivalent. - Cloud platform services: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMware Cloud.
Salary range: $95,500 – $181,700 USD.
