Applications Developer - SME

Nightwing is currently seeking a Full Stack Web Application Developer SME in Herndon VA to work on a suite of services that will supply users with tools to automate a wide range of enterprise‑wide applications and data‑centric mission management applications. The candidate will be part of a team of Software Developers, ETL Developers, and Data Scientists to enhance existing production applications and build out new web services on a routinized production cadence to meet the evolving needs of users.

This is an exciting opportunity for Software Developers wanting to broaden their credentials in the realm of artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML). Development will take place in an iterative fashion using Agile development methodology with input from all levels of stakeholders. The candidate must have the ability to communicate with project team members, user community, and leadership to assess changes and demonstrate iterative progress.

• Integrate AI/ML technology into a production web application.
• Participate with iterative software development teams with adherence to all reporting requirements.
• Design, develop and unit test code for a production system and demonstrate capabilities.
• Develop rapid prototypes to drive out requirements and design.
• Provide demonstrations and detailed walk‑through of features to a variety of technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Meet with stakeholders, analyze requirements, develop user stories, and translate these into software development tasks.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and briefing materials to support program status reviews, control gates, and other presentations as directed.
• Write and maintain technical documentation for application workflows, integrations, and compliance procedures.
• Optimize and enhance application performance, ensuring scalability and security.

The salary associated with this position ($122,000-$253,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
