Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop reliable embedded solutions for advanced energy-management and power-electronics systems. This individual will create firmware supporting power monitoring, equipment controls, signal acquisition, and energy calculations while ensuring accuracy, performance, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop firmware for embedded power-monitoring, switching-control, and energy-measurement systems.
- Create and optimize digital signal-processing algorithms for real-time applications.
- Develop solutions using TI DSPs, including C2000 and TMS
320F28x devices, ARM Cortex-M/R/A microcontrollers, and FPGA-based platforms. - Interface with high-resolution analog-to-digital converters and analog front ends to capture voltage and current signals.
- Implement industrial communication technologies, including RS-485, Modbus RTU/TCP, CAN, Ethernet, UDP/TCP/IP, MQTT, SNMP, and custom protocols.
- Maintain synchronization and timing alignment across distributed acquisition and control nodes.
- Partner with hardware engineers throughout system integration, verification, and testing.
- Evaluate system behavior and improve firmware performance using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debugging tools.
- Produce clear technical documentation covering system interfaces, data structures, communication methods, and integration requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Six or more years of embedded software development experience within control, measurement, power, or energy-related systems.
- Advanced proficiency with embedded C and C++.
- Experience developing bare-metal and/or real-time operating system applications.
- Practical knowledge of digital signal processing and energy-measurement algorithms.
- Hands-on experience with ARM-based microcontrollers, TI DSPs, and FPGA platforms.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols and hardware buses.
- Demonstrated ability to debug complex firmware and resolve hardware-software integration issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with power and energy standards such as IEC 62053, IEC 61000, and ANSI C12.20.
- Experience with FPGA or HDL-based signal processing.
- Knowledge of multicore architectures and separating control functions from metrology tasks.
- Understanding of timing-critical systems and hardware-software co-design principles.
- Competitive base salary with performance-based bonus opportunities
- Paid time off
- 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment
