Responsibilities
  • Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities, plan and assure continuous improvement.
  • Effectively keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect operations.
  • Ensure the development of systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Manage operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals, comply with terms outlined in the site's operating agreement with the client.
  • Implement and report on-going cost savings measures, provide ideas and suggestions for more efficient operations.
  • Meet all client specified KPIs and comply with quality system requirements.
  • Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, create programs to fairly and equitably supervise, counsel and (where needed) discipline team members.
  • Provide direction and support to Human Resources, assist in creating programs for hiring, training and professional development, participate in performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wage increases and other HR activities.
  • Have overall training and evaluation responsibilities of warehouse staff.
  • Plan the daily work schedule by reviewing existing work orders, arrival notices and instructions from customers; assess priorities and assign duties to appropriate warehouse staff.
  • Review pending jobs or trends, plan for reorganization of warehouse space and needed changes in levels of supplies, equipment or staffing needs.
  • Train new staff in assigned duties, delegate training responsibility to experienced team members, assess progress of trainees and add additional duties as appropriate.
  • Keep informed of quantity and quality of jobs being performed throughout the day, providing guidance and advice as necessary.
  • Assign supervisory duties to experienced team members acting as leads for lower-level staff; keep abreast of progress or problems.
  • Keep Manager advised of progress or problems requiring attention on a daily basis; hold regular meetings with warehouse staff to assess overall status, discuss ideas for improvement and keep staff informed of new developments.
  • Assist in physical operations as needed.
  • Deliver results by leveraging the skills of the right people at the right time.
  • Maintain high degree of motivation in team members to retain focus of providing highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members.
  • Provide input and conduct annual performance reviews for team members.
  • Support adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and train team members with adherence to SOPs (corporate and client).
Skills & Abilities
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 3 years of experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
  • 1 year of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Preferred:
    Prior MHE certification / knowledge of basic MHE operation.
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), RF scanners, WMS functions.
  • English reading, writing, verbal; business communication.
  • Basic to intermediate level for verifying quantities of product, counting inventory or performing other duties associated with handling, storing and distributing client products.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; good organizational, personnel, written and oral communication skills; good leadership, supervision and planning skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends; work overtime as dictated; adapt to change and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Physical Demands
  • Occasionally bending, frequently walking and standing, constantly sitting.
  • Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 11‑20 pounds; reach above shoulder, squat or kneel.

Rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level usually low to moderate.
