As a Locum NP/PA in Cardiothoracic Surgery, you will play a vital role in delivering high‑quality patient care while collaborating with a team of skilled surgeons and healthcare providers. Your expertise will contribute to patient assessments, treatment plans, and post‑operative care, ensuring optimal outcomes for our patients.

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations
• Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans
• Provide pre‑operative and post‑operative care to patients
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
• Monitor and document patient progress throughout treatment
• Educate patients and families on treatment options and care plans
• Participate in surgical procedures as directed by supervising physicians
• Stay current with best practices and advancements in cardiothoracic surgery

• Associate degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Strong clinical skills in cardiothoracic surgery
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
• Experience in patient assessment and care planning
• Knowledge of relevant medical software and electronic health records
• Commitment to providing compassionate patient care

Schedule:

24‑hour call shifts

Duties:
Hospital rounding, surgery (elective and emergent), and assistance in clinic

Cases:
Cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and CABG surgery

Preferred

Skills:

Removal of chest tubes, pulmonary artery catheters, epicardial wires, and intra‑aortic balloon pumps, and vein and artery harvesting

Support Staff:
Office supervisor

EMR:
Meditech and eCW

Must be board‑certified
