Hgv Mechanic

We are currently seeking an experienced HGV Technician / Plant Fitter to join our busy workshop team. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong diagnostic, repair, and maintenance experience across HGVs, plant machinery, and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out maintenance, inspections, servicing, repairs, and testing on HGVs, plant machinery, and equipment. Prepare, present, and accompany HGV vehicles for annual MOT inspections. Perform periodic safety inspections in line with VOSA inspection manual standards. Diagnose and repair complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults. Undertake welding, fabrication, and vehicle body repairs as required. Attend roadside breakdowns and accident-damaged vehicles, carrying out both temporary and permanent repairs.

Prepare vehicles for service and decommission vehicles when required. Install and remove ancillary equipment, accessories, and vehicle livery. Complete all relevant workshop documentation and update the workshop management system accurately. Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and company procedures. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment. Attend training courses and development programmes as required. Carry out any additional duties as directed by the Company Director.
