Job Summary

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Representative is responsible for overseeing, promoting and maintaining a safe and compliant workplace through the development, implementation, and administration of environmental, health, and safety programs. This role partners all levels of leadership and associates to reduce workplace risk, improve safety performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of safety across both manufacturing and office environments.

The EHS Representative reports into the Human Resources team and serves as the point of contact for workplace safety and environmental initiatives, workers' compensation coordination, incident investigations, safety training, and both OSHA and EPCRA compliance, while supporting continuous improvement efforts throughout the organization.

Essential Functions

Job Responsibilities

Safety Program Administration

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of company safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Monitor workplace conditions and recommend corrective actions to reduce risk.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, environmental, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate emergency preparedness and response planning.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvements to company safety programs and practices.
  • Lead and/or support management in investigations involving injuries, near misses, property damage incidents, and safety concerns.
  • Lead and/or support management in identifying root causes and develop corrective action recommendations.
  • Monitor completion and effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Analyze injury and incident trends to identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement.

Workers' Compensation & Return-to-Work Support

  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims with carriers, medical providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Complete injury reporting and claim documentation.
  • Oversee transitional duty and return-to-work programs.
  • Maintain accurate claim records and track claim status.

Safety Training & Associate Engagement

  • Develop and deliver safety training for all associates.
  • Facilitate new associate safety orientation programs.
  • Develop and support safety committees and associate involvement initiatives.
  • Promote associate awareness of workplace hazards and safe work practices.
  • Partner with leadership to strengthen safety culture.

Compliance & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain OSHA logs and required safety documentation.
  • Prepare reports for regulatory agencies as required.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety reporting requirements.
  • Maintain training records, inspection reports, and safety metrics.
  • Support environmental compliance activities including maintenance of required records, permits, reports, and training.
  • Coordinate annual environmental reporting requirements, including EPCRA/Tier II reporting and other applicable regulatory submissions.
  • Partner with both internal and external leaders, consultants, vendors, and regulatory agencies as needed to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
  • Monitor environmental compliance obligations and communicate emerging risks or regulatory changes to leadership.
  • Participate in environmental audits and corrective action planning.

Metrics & Reporting

  • Monitor and report key performance indicators related to safety, environmental and risk management.
  • Analyze trends related to injuries, workers’ compensation claims, near misses, audits, training effectiveness, and environmental compliance metrics.
  • Provide Director of HR with recommendations and key areas of opportunity.
  • Prepare routine reports for leadership review.

Other

  • Perform all duties in a manner that follows, demonstrates, and promotes Etac company values and elements.
  • Report to work as scheduled, on time, and able to work entire work schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
