Position: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Stevens Point, WI

Step into a rewarding role serving students across central Wisconsin as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHH)! This full-time, contract position begins August 1, 2026, and offers you the unique opportunity to support approximately 15 students in multiple rural districts. Youll provide vital educational services across school sites in Abbotsford, Edgar, Marathon, Athens, Rosholt, and Spencer, making a meaningful difference every day.

As a valued member of a collaborative team, you'll develop and deliver individualized instruction and support, ensuring each child receives the accommodations and modifications they need to thrive academically and socially. Your expertise will be essential in fostering inclusive classroom environments and advocating for accessible education.

Qualifications & Desired

Experience:
  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education.
  • Ability to serve children with diverse needs across varying grade levels.
  • Comfortable with rural travel between school sites.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Graduate-level candidates and new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Understanding of current best practices in deaf education.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct instruction to students with hearing impairments.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers, school staff, and families to implement IEPs.
  • Develop individualized educational plans and track student progress.
  • Support the use of assistive technology and accessible materials.
  • Conduct assessments and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Advocate for student needs and inclusive practices at each site.
