Job DutiesThis position reports to the Student Success Center Director in the School of Health Sciences and Wellness and is responsible for school recruitment efforts, enrollment management, and student success initiatives, including academic advising. The Academic Advisor manages the Nursing 1+2+1 Partnership Program, a collaborative initiative that impacts outreach, recruitment, retention, and student success of undergraduates. The role is highly complex and constantly evolving to best meet student needs across various academic programs, collaborating with school, college, campus, and external constituents.
The Advisor serves as the primary academic adviser to a select group of students while providing support to students across the entire school.
- Proactively engage students as needed.
- Receive, process, and respond to academic inquiries according to established policies and procedures.
- Maintain expertise with the advised curriculum and assist in developing and recommending exceptions for policy and curriculum.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate student records, responding to academic inquiries in accordance with FERPA policies.
- Implement academic advising events such as workshops, panel discussions, and guest speakers.
- Participate in the campus‑wide advising community, providing input to leadership regarding advising, recruitment, and co‑curricular programs.
- Act as the main point of contact for students, offering information about educational options and academic requirements, helping identify and assess interests, skills, and values, matching students to appropriate fields of study or career options, and referring students to institutional resources.

Compensation & BenefitsThe position is full‑time, salaried, exempt, academic staff. The starting annual salary is in the range of $48,000 – $55,000, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree.
- Professional work experience in advising, career services, admissions, and/or student services in a college or university setting, or background as a healthcare professional.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Master’s degree.
- Professional experience advising nursing students.
- Ability to encourage and motivate students with a strong commitment to student success.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attentive to detail with strong record‑keeping and data management skills.
- Demonstrated effective use of technology.
