Lecturers are hired on a per‑course basis each semester. Teaching one semester does not guarantee assignment the following semester. Teaching load ranges between 1 – 12 credits per semester. This position is primarily on‑site, but partially remote and remote opportunities may be available.
Key Job Responsibilities- Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
- Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
- Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
- Minimum of a master’s degree in sociology, criminal justice, criminology, or a related field, from an accredited college or university.
- Ability to effectively instruct and engage with a wide range of students, encompassing diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities.
- Experience teaching at the college or university level.
- Experience teaching in multiple modalities, such as in‑person, online, and hybrid.
