Classroom Assistant

Work site: Children’s Discovery Center – Stevens Point
Start Date: August 5, 2026
Starting Pay: $15.41-$16.95 per hour, depending on experience
Status: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

Duties: Assist the teacher in preparing and conducting classroom activities that provide a developmentally age- and stage-appropriate curriculum, utilizing developmentally appropriate practices as outlined in the Program’s philosophy and Creative Curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications: If you do not meet the minimum qualifications, on the job training may be provided.

• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• Completion of two courses in Early Childhood Education through an institute of higher education.
• Six months’ related work experience working in Early Childhood.
• Must obtain and maintain a current certificate of completion for infant and child cardiopulmonary resuscitation with AED (CPR) within 2 months of hire.
• Certificate of completion of Abusive Head Trauma training prior to working at the center.
