Job Duties

While there may not be an immediate need for a lecturer in every area, UW-Stevens Point (UWSP) accepts applications regardless, in order to create a pool for when there may be a need. Upon successful submission of your application, you will be considered for future part‑time associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer opportunities, and your application will be on file as a potential candidate who could possibly fill a position if or when the need arises.

An associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer is hired on a per‑course basis each semester, and teaching one semester does not guarantee being assigned the following semester. The teaching hours for an associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer will vary with a teaching load ranging between 1‑12 credits per semester. While the announcement lists this position as on‑site, partially remote and remote opportunities may be available.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations

Compensation & Benefits

The Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer is a part‑time, salaried, exempt, academic year (9‑month), instructional academic staff position.

Required Qualifications
  • M.A. in German, Spanish, or related field
  • Experience teaching language courses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in German, Spanish, or related field
  • Experience teaching culture courses either in the target language or in English
