Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer – Department of Computing and New Media Technologies (Continuous Recruitment)

While there may not be an immediate need for a lecturer in this academic department, UW-Stevens Point (UWSP) accepts applications regardless, in order to create a pool for when there may be a need. Upon successful submission of your application, you will be considered for future part-time associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer opportunities, and your application will be on file as a potential candidate who could possibly fill a position if or when the need arises.

An associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer is hired on a per-course basis each semester, and teaching one semester does not guarantee being assigned the following semester. The teaching hours for an associate lecturer/lecturer/senior lecturer will vary with a teaching load ranging between 1-12 credits per semester. While the announcement lists this position as on-site, partially remote and remote opportunities may be available.

  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
Department:

The Department of Computing and New Media Technologies provides unique opportunities through three undergraduate programs:
Artificial Intelligence, Computer Information Systems, and Web Development. In Computing and New Media Technologies, students will find a vibrant department fueled by an energetic faculty and staff, dedicated to teaching, research and community outreach.

Compensation & Benefits:

The Associate Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer is a part-time, salaried, exempt, academic year (9-month), instructional academic staff position. Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computing or a field related to the area of teaching

  • Relevant work or teaching experience

  • Must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in computing or a related field

  • Experience teaching diverse groups and/or college-level teaching experience
